DELOCA began with a question: how might everyday design make participating in the energy transition more accessible, meaningful and enjoyable?

Most household energy systems remain technical, fixed and largely invisible. DELOCA approaches energy differently. It combines portable energy, furniture design, digital participation and local commerce to explore how low-carbon electricity can become part of everyday domestic and neighbourhood life.

The platform and the Hearth are being developed in Sydney by Delectro Pty Ltd through design research, prototyping and collaboration with energy, technology, community and business partners.

DELOCA is developing through relationships across energy innovation, design research, technology and local enterprise.

DELOCA is building an advisory and investment network to support product development, energy-market participation, manufacturing and the City of Sydney pilot.

DELOCA and the Hearth are initiatives of Delectro Pty Ltd, a Sydney-based design and innovation company developing new relationships between domestic life, energy use and participation in the two-way consumer grid during the energy transition.
